Duke Of York gives pantomime its second award
The Duke of York’s Community Initiative was founded in 1998 after HRH visited a York housing estate where inspiring residents had come together to resolve community problems. The Duke decided to found an Initiative to recognise the important contribution made by voluntary organisations for their work across Yorkshire. A large number of organisations from across the county have won awards for their valuable community service, which are presented at an annual ceremony in Yorkshire. Another successful year … 97%+ of all tickets sold … great feedback … everyone enjoyed themselves … and I do so without any regret over my repetition because these statements provide testimony to the continued success that our Group enjoys. Tuesday the 22nd January was 2019’s night for offering a performance with support from the wonderful Julie Fletcher our resident BSL Interpreter. Thanks to Julie, and of course our terrific cast and crew, we had another night to remember! Julie in action…
A huge thank you goes to the Asda Store in Beeston Leeds 11, and especially to Steve Navey, Store Manager and Ian Ferguson, his Asda colleague, for supporting our application for Funding. The Pantomime Group was delighted to receive a £500 award from the Asda Community Foundation Fund which will be put to good use funding our 2018-19 show, Snow White.
Welcome all to the St Andrew’s Pantomime Group 2018 AGM. It has been a year of many things. A year of continued success with 97% of tickets sold, a year of needing to fill some key roles such as costumes for adults and children and children’s co-ordination, but it has also been a year that marked the end of a genuine era.
