Panto group reaches out to the hearing impaired<\/a><\/h1>\nAs the panto season rapidly approaches, St Andrew\u2019s Pantomime Group in Beeston have unveiled plans for their production of Sleeping Beauty and this year one of the performances will include a signer for people with impaired hearing.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\nSimon Forster from the group explained:<\/p>\n
\u201cIn 2103 we were awarded the Duke of York\u2019s Award for contribution to the Local Community in recognition of the work we have done since our establishment in 1970.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the aspects of our Group that we have been working on over the past few years is outreach. We already contribute significant funds to Leeds based charities and in recent years the Group has established a Summer Children\u2019s Theatre Group called Starlight, through which we have started to take our rehearsal performances out to allow children in places such as Hollybank Trust to experience some of our theatre first hand.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m delighted that we have been able to put on a special performance during the run for the Hearing Impaired. This will be supported by a fully qualified BSL signer with a vast experience of signing in theatre environments.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The show will run in the second half of January with performances between 16-30 January 2016. The signed performance for will be on Thursday 28 January and tickets for the hearing impaired and their guests are at a special reduced price of \u00a33.<\/p>\n
